Everyone in France must marry in a church before they can marry at the Mairie ( town hall ). It is typically a brief service presided over by the governor of France, and it is where you are legally wed. Some couples opt to perform this second, followed by a religious ceremony, and finally the other way around, and some even choose to do both on the same morning french mail order brides!

In contrast to American celebrations, the French choose two or four temoins https://www.reddit.com/r/unpopularopinion/comments/cnyo7b/men_are_told_to_improve_themselves_women_are_told/ to serve as the girls and best man as their legal ceremony testimony. The temoins are hardly surprising to be community associates, and they frequently serve as the child’s witnesses at their religion marriage. Although it is not totally required by tradition, it is usual for the temoins to use outfits that are a little more formal than what the bride and groom may become wearing.

The bride’s father and his family are followed by guests before the bridegroom generally leaves the bride’s home to accumulate her. Children frequently obstruct the couple’s path with white ribbons that she must reduce on the way to the church or monastery as a sign that she has overcomed obstacles to a married life.

Many newlyweds did hold a lavish reception at a venue with plenty of dancing once they are married. The celebration can last well into the nights and occasionally even up until the early hours of the next day because the music is usually quiet! It’s a great time to reconnect with friends and remember the happy couple.
